Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m excited to welcome you and your family to the practice. I have been working in dentistry as an assistant for over seven years. I was first inspired to work in dentistry by a friend whose enthusiasm for the profession was extremely contagious! I truly enjoy working in dentistry, especially being able to help others improve their health. Over the years, I’ve built many meaningful relationships with my patients, and I always look forward to seeing my patients during office visits.
I have lived in Flagstaff my whole life. Living in this area is great, especially because when I’m not at the practice, I enjoy hunting, camping, archery, shooting, and taking out my St. Bernard dog named Tonka. One of my favorite things however, is being a mom to my wonderful son, Hunter! I have also been involved with the Flagstaff Food Bank for over three years – a very fulfilling way for me to give back to the community.

Hello! My name is Krista Duggan. I began my dentistry career in a dental lab, specializing in porcelain stain and glaze. But as you will find, I am a people person and need to work directly with patients, which brought me to dental assisting. I have an extreme passion for the field and thrive to be part of changing people’s lives. My goal each day is to ensure patient comfort and inspire them to become more aware of their overall oral health.

Lab Technician
Hello! My name is Harrison and for over four years I’ve worked with Dr. Shanahan as the lab technician. I enjoy watching Dr. Shanahan and the team as they create beautiful smiles for all of our deserving patients. Making our patients laugh and creating a positive environment means a great deal not only to myself, but is shared by everyone I have the opportunity to work with at our practice. Our patients truly make this job enjoyable, especially when I see them smile and I know how happy they are about the care they have received.
I have lived in Flagstaff since 1992. My inspiration for working in dentistry was born out of my necessity – growing up my mouth was a disaster! From an early age I received extensive dental care and orthodontics. I always felt as if I was being treated by the most caring, capable, and knowledgeable doctors and staff. Once my treatments were complete, I knew I wanted to share such a wonderful experience with others.
Outside of the practice, I enjoy playing the guitar and bass. On warm sunny days here in Flagstaff I love to hike or play a round of golf. I am also involved in co-coaching baseball with Dr. Shanahan. I also like being at home just spending time with my two cats, Bosco and Ms. Pig.JoLena

Hi, I’m JoLena, and I have worked in dentistry for over 12 years. I graduated in 2009 from Northern Arizona University and am now working as a Dental Hygienist. I came to work in dentistry because my uncle was a dentist, and I was always interested in the art and science of dentistry. Today I feel fortunate to be working in such a rewarding profession. My patients are the best – every day they keep me inspired and passionate about my job. I enjoy being able to educate my patients, and knowing that I am able to make a difference in their lives by providing the best quality dental health care. Our entire team at this practice is passionate about dentistry, and we all work very well together for the benefit of our patients.
Outside of the practice, I enjoy going running, camping, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and spending time with my husband, Jim, and our friends. I an originally from Fremont, Indiana, and have lived in Flagstaff since 2004. I have two dogs, Rufus and Aspen, and two cats, Mazzy and Smokey, who keep me very busy! I have also been involved with the Flagstaff Food Bank for over three years.

Hi there, my name’s Laura, and I am the financial coordinator. I’ve been working in dentistry for over a year, and being somewhat new to the profession, I look forward to learning something new every day! One of my favorite things about working in dentistry is being able to help our patients achieve a beautiful smile that they can be proud of. Our patients come to our practice excited about being here, and I look forward to helping them maintain their enthusiasm throughout their treatment. The experience and expertise of our team is incredible! We always have fun, but we remain professional at the same time.
I have lived in Flagstaff since 1973, and am originally from Hutchinson, Kansas. My husband, Robert, and I have one son, Rylee, and one daughter, Kaitlyn. We also have two dogs, Pugsley and Scooter, and one cat, T.C. (Top Cat). In my free time, I love scrapbooking, bowling, camping, and watching my kids play sports, as well as volunteering with the Flagstaff Youth Bowling Association as their league secretary.

Hello! My name is Marilyn and I am Dr. Shanahan’s full-time registered dental hygienist. I have been working in dentistry for nineteen years. My career began as an assistant. I loved the dental field so much that I was inspired to continue my education and become a hygienist. My favorite aspect of dental hygiene is helping our patients pursue a lifetime of good oral health. Every day I look forward to being at this practice and working with our patients. Just being around them makes me want to better myself both professionally and personally.
I am originally from Phoenix. I moved to Flagstaff in 1988 to attend NAU and have been here since. This is a great place to spend time with my three boys and our three dogs. I also stay involved with my two younger boys by volunteering at their school, San Francisco de asis Catholic School.
As a family we love hunting, horseback riding, swimming, D-back games, and jazzercise.
