Comprehensive Oral Evaluation
An oral evaluation is necessary for you and the doctor to make a plan for your oral health. The doctor completes a TMJ screening, Oral Cancer exam, Perio charting evaluation and a Restoration and Caries evaluation. A full series of digital x-rays are taken at this evaluation for the doctor to diagnose treatment.
Prophylaxis (Adult)
A Prophlaxis (teeth cleaning) is done by a liscensed hygienist. At this appointment a cancer screening and perio screening are done. A full mouth cleaning is completed by using an ultrasonic scaler. The doctor may do a recall evaluation at this time. A cleaning is necessary every 3-6 months depending on your oral health. Check up x-rays are taken at this appointment when necessary.
Prophylaxis (Child)
A prophlaxis for a child is also done by a liscensed hygienist. At this appointment oral hygiene instruction is implemented and discussed with the parent. The child's teeth are posihed and fluoride is given. The doctor may evaluate the child at this appointment if necessary. Children's teeth should be cleaned every 6 months. Check-up x-rays are taken at this appointment when necessary.
